The assigner of this Bachelor`s thesis is the seed production company Naturcom Ltd. The main goal of the thesis is to make a research and collect together information of the new plants for Naturcom Ltd. On base of this research Naturcom Ltd. may carry out further research and use the results for marketing. The research includes soil improvement and fodder utilization. Food stuff usage is ruled out from the research. We also produced an information sheet of oilseed radish (appendix 1) for the company website.

The purpose of the thesis is to produce literature research that clarifies the quality, usage and opportunities of each plant. As resources we have used both foreign and domestic Finnish researches and publications. Domestic Finnish publications are based on researches of RaHa- and TehoPlus-projects as well as Sugar beet research center.

The conclusion of this research is that most of the plants can be used in Finland for soil improvement, as fodder or other usage. There are also plants that are utilized in other parts of the world but not in Finland. Therefore more research is required to clarify the suitability in Finnish conditions .As well as to find out the fodder quality and –values. Especially chicory is a potential soil improvement and fodder plant. Also tillage radish as renovation plant requires more studies.
