This thesis was assignment from homecare of Kalajoki city. Authors find this theme topical. In Finland we have had published studies where the results show that 80% of nurses on healthcare has experienced violence at work.

On this thesis we made enquiry where we investigated how many homecareworkers have con-fronted aggressiveness from their clients. We found important to make instructions to nurses and to their employer.

The results of enquiry were considered at a ward-meeting of Kalajoki city homecare. At ward-meeting we considered also subjects as instruction for work-violence cases, employees’ rights and employer’s role if work-violence is topical, we also discussed about verbal and non-verbal communication at nursing and healthcare.

The results were surprising. Over half of the employees of Kalajoki city’s homecare had confront-ed violence such as hitting, biting and pinching. Most of employees had experienced verbal ag-gressiveness, also sexual harassment has been confronted at work.

On the basis of inquiry, we found out that the thesis was very necessary to do because most of the employees did not know the instructions for case of work-violence. The threat of work vio-lence or aggressive conduct is seen in many jobs of the nursing field. That’s why this thesis would be useful for other homecare employees, and for example elder’s home nurses.
