The aim of this thesis was to create a guide to hospice care for the patients’ next of kin. The guide had to be concise information package, with no technical terms to be used. The guide was supposed to be informative and clear in language.

The guide was intended to provide basic information about the patient's next of kin about the things they have to face during hospice care. The content of the themes were based on experience that personnel in hospice care ward have had while working with the relatives.

The latest possible information and literature were used as a source of knowledge while writing this thesis. Information theory has been gathered from various medical examinations, thesis, social and health care stakeholders and project sites, guides and other relevant articles.

The project was completed with the presentation of clear and simple guide, which will be used in hospice care. The guide is easily upgradeable when there’s going to be changes in the future.
