In Degree Programme of Nursing and Health Care placement has always had a huge role. For this reason, it would be important that the placement could be assessed with a specific form based on competence requirements. Assigner in our project was Oulu University of Applied Sciences.

The aim of this project was to create the base for evaluation for a specific practical training period. Which in this case was placement of Medical Surgical Nursing. The project started by creating a questionnaire about the old form, which was used in evaluation, to nursing students. We wanted to know the pros and cons of it. It was noticed that the majority of students thought that improvements to the old form are needed. This feedback was taken into consideration in the appearance and the content of the new form. Goals of the practical training and periods own aims were also used as a base.

New evaluation form was tested in spring 2016 at Medical Surgical Nursing practical training. New form received mostly good feedback but we also got some ideas how to develop form further. This further development was done with our teacher and with these chances the form is going to be used at next spring when new Medical Surgical Nursing practical training starts.
