The thesis was made for a media company Rapid River. They needed a video portal for the debates held in Kuusamo about the plan to establish a uranium mine. The goal of the thesis was to compile these debates in a user friendly form and create a simple website to host them in. The goal of the website was to bring more visibility to the mining project in Kuusamo and gather the debates in to a single place for those who are interested.

In the report I delved into the growth of video based websites and the overall consumption of video in the internet. The report also covers video editing and the various processes used in the creation of the website and its content.

The project was started during the summer of 2014 and was finally finished in the spring of 2015. Equipment and software of Rapid River was used to create the portal and its contents. The final product was a complete, user friendly video portal website about the open debates held in Kitkajoki.
